Go through a Whomp
Discovered by: Connie at CGS
Exciting-ness scale: 4.5 out of 10
Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works.

It turns out that you can go through whomps and also let them squish your head, without any damage. One place to test this out is Whomp's Fortress. Go up to a Whomp and let it jump on you. Then, jump up and if timed right, you will go through it and gain a coin. When it is on the ground, stand right behind it. When it gets up, it will be squishing your head down but causing no injury. It will also not seem to notice that you're there...

You can get squished under the boss Whomp without getting hurt, too. But, you can not jump through him.

Go through the level entrance
Discovered by: Connie at CGS
Exciting-ness scale: 3 out of 10
Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works.

Go near the entrance of Dire, Dire Docks (the level that is in the wall behind the second Bowser area). Note that the behind the blue gook seems to be a path that continues onwards. Now, go to either wall and slowly slide along the wall, to the entrance (so that Mario's pressing his chest against the wall and scooting along it). Keep on going. If you do it carefully enough, you will pass through the entrance of the level, without going into the level. Unfortunately, there is an invisible wall behind the level, preventing you from going on that path behind it. If you make Mario crawl, the invisible wall will make his head disappear, because it will be going through the wall. If you try moving along the invisible wall, or part from the wall you were scooting against, then you will enter the level.

Lose your hat forever
Discovered by: Wilma at CGS
Exciting-ness scale: 4 out of 10
Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works. It's hard to make happen, though...

Go to the 10th level (the second snowy level). Now, climb upwards (past the sweeping blocks of ice), to where the huge snowman tries to blow you off of him. I'm not quite sure how to make this happen - there be no way to "make" this happen, it just does. When you get blown away, sometimes your hat will fly at an angle. Just by sheer luck, it may land in the hole in the ice maze. (Extra info in case this might have affected the outcome: I was trying to do the glitch below; I was doing the first star of the world; I was about in the middle of the platform and behind the big penguin when I got blown away; the wind did not seem to hit me, but it did). If this happens, you will not be able to get back your hat ever again (from what I can tell). DO NOT SAVE. If you go through the ice maze and try to get to your hat, you will hit the star before the hat and you will fall onto your hat but not get it, since you're getting the star. Doesn't that suck?

I'd rather get my hat than some blue star

Have multiple hats and hold it as you do stuff
Discovered by: Wilma at CGS
Exciting-ness scale: 4 out of 10
Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works.

Go to the 10th level (the second snowy level). Climb upwards (past the sweeping blocks of ice), to where the huge snowman blows you off. Get blown away, and make sure you know where your hat lands (or you may lose it forever). Now, run to the base of the second tree to your left. Wait there and you will warp. Walk away from the base and walk back to warp back. Now, warp back and forth repeatedly. Each two warps will add another hat to the pile, for some strange reason. Now, go back to your hat after a total of 8 warps or so (4 one way, 4 the other). If you run into the hat briefly, you will pick up and put on your hat, but there will still be more on the ground. If you run into the pile again, the hat you were wearing will disappear and you'll try to put another on. But, you'll immediately pick up another hat. You'll end up hat-less and holding a hat. I believe this makes you still take double damage but you can now run around holding your hat and whack badguys with it. If you leave the level, you will have your hat back on.

Float in thin air
Discovered by: The CGS Dad
Exciting-ness scale: 3 out of 10
Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works.

Once you have 120 stars, shoot yourself to the top of Peach's castle. Now, climb around on it and go onto one of the steeper areas of roof near the back of the castle. Now, try walking off of it along the wall of the tower. You will be walking on nothingness and be somewhat sticking into the building. I assume the programmers didn't spend much time on the castle roof (Yoshi has spelling errors, and there's the glitch after this) but I thought they'd be able to fix stuff like this up... it's like they programmed a ground in but didn't draw in the textures.

Go through some walls

Does it work? --> Confirmed. It works.

Shoot yourself on top of Peach's castle with the cannon by the lake. Now, travel to the back and try running at some of the spires that stick up from the corners of the castle roof. You'll be able to go through two of them like they don't exist... unfortunately, there is flooring underneath for some reason...
