When you reach Gothica, you'll eventually have to go through the dark forest to Ebon Keep. The best way to get through the dark forest is to look for an owl in a tree of the screen you're currently on. If you don't see the owl, you took a wrong path, so back up and try again. You'll eventually beat a boss on a bridge, then come to a sewer pipe system. Work your way through that and you'll end up in Cecil's Town. Do what you want, but do NOT enter the castle at the north part of town! Doing so will start the battle with the Verminator. Instead, leave and go all the way back through the sewers and the forest until you come out on top of the chessboard again. Now, for some bizarre reason, the bridge to Ivor Tower is gone. However, the bridge to Ebon Keep is now down! This is a major mistake on the programmer's part. Remember that the whole reason you were sent to Ebon Keep was to lower the bridge, but not only have you not entered the castle yet, but even if you were to enter the castle, you would discover that the bridge will never be let down. Cross the bridge to Ebon Keep and you'll be inside the castle. Eventually, you'll reach a room where the story takes over. When all is done, leave the castle the exact same way you came in. If you try to leave through the main castle gate at the south end, you will end up trapped inside a huge stack of boxes with no way out! That is where the Verminator should have been (he would have been sitting on top of the stack). But, if you leave the way you came in, via the west exit over the bridge, you'll be fine. We are not sureif not beating the Verminator has any other consequences in the game. Go back to the top
